Nippon Paint recently launched a campaign to galvanize healthcare facilities in Sri Lanka with its latest 3-in-1 product MediFresh, an antibacterial coating developed with silver and zinc ions to ward off pathogenic microorganisms.

The project to isolate hospitals across the country was started at the Hospital for Infectious Diseases (IDH) in Colombo and has since spread to several key cities in the country.

The product has been clinically proven to provide protection against pathogenic viruses according to extensive research conducted by two reputable laboratories in Singapore: Productivity & Standards Board (PSB) and TÜV SÜD PSB. Based on the positive result, the paint was dubbed the “third layer of protection” against viral diseases, behind masking and vaccination.

Commenting on the product and its receipt in Sri Lanka, GM, Nippon Lanka Paint Nemantha Abeysinghe said, “We are proud to be one of the first paint manufacturers in the world to introduce a unique product that goes beyond cosmetic functions and aesthetics of painting. MediFresh 3-in-1 has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the local market so far as it is easy to use and can be applied to a wide range of surfaces without having to remove the existing paint coat.

He added that this product was recommended for healthcare facilities, schools, public and private organizations as well as residences: “Based on the available research, it is evident that this product can offer protection against different types of pathogenic pathogens. ; MediFresh 3-in-1 eliminates the need for constant disinfection which is an expensive, time-consuming and labor-intensive process.

3-in-1 Medi Fresh is an acrylic elastomer coating for indoor use that protects the environment from many types of bacteria like MRSA, E-COLI and Staphylococcus aureus – for the inhibition of asthma, flu and diarrhea, etc.
