Lee Club raises funds for new Hope Pregnancy Center

The Lee University Students for Life Club held a fundraiser to raise money for the New Hope Pregnancy Center in Cleveland. They presented a check for $1,765 to the organization during their monthly meeting.

The club sold out Choo Choo Kettle Corn on campus and to friends and family throughout March. Three anonymous donations totaling $100 were also received. Proceeds from the sale went to New Hope to purchase new computers, which will be used by new mothers and mothers-to-be to watch parenting videos online.

“Club members have worked very hard to sell popcorn on campus and raise funds for this worthy cause,” said Jeannie Duff, Lee’s nursing lecturer and club sponsor.

Sandee Williams, New Hope Client Services Manager, and Tyler Donavon, Development Specialist, shared New Hope’s mission at the meeting and answered questions from students.

The New Hope Pregnancy Center is dedicated to offering help, hope, and accurate information to new mothers and pregnant women, especially those facing unplanned pregnancies.

“It was such a wonderful experience to participate in the popcorn fundraiser with Students for Life,” said Katherine Krueger, freshman political science student and Spanish double major and club president. “Not only was the popcorn delicious, but I saw the whole club come together with their time and resources to really make a difference. I’m grateful for both the money we were able to raise, as well as for the passionate people we work with at SFL Fundraising has been a blessing to all of us!
