Two years of hard work have paid off for the Charis Pregnancy Center, also known as Charis Center, as they celebrate two years as a non-profit organization providing pro-life pregnancy-related services to women and men. Stephens County families. They will organize a “birthday party” from 2 pm to 4 pm on September 29

at the Center, located at 1700 W. Jones, according to Kimberla Treat, executive director of the Charis Center.

“We look forward to celebrating a second year filled with hope and help for those who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy,” she said. “In our second year, we served over 200 women and their families, providing them with free pregnancy confirmations through tests and ultrasounds as well as parenting classes.”

Treat said the celebration was well placed to mark not only their second year, but also the completion of the West Wing renovation.

“This was done through a grant from the Butterfield Foundation and raising the remaining funds to see it come to fruition, Treat said.

Growing the center without going into debt has always been a goal for the center.

“Our goal is to continue to operate debt free. We achieved this with the generous support of the community, ”said Treat. “The completion of the west wing of the facility will allow us to further meet the daily needs of our customers.

Treat said the center was created to help women in the county.

“With Oklahoma being the second in the country in teenage pregnancy and Stephens County reflecting this statistic in our state, she said. “The Charis Center was created to meet the needs of new moms and dads in Stephens County by providing pregnancy tests and ultrasounds, education to compensate for economic uncertainty, and baby items.”
